Dragon's Den essentials: Trade marks and patents explained

Published 10.09.08 at 19:30

Trade marks and patents can be the most valuable assets of your business and are frequently the topic of painstaking interrogation at Dragon's Den. But where exactly lies the value of a patent – why is it crucial for an investor to know that you have registered a patent for your innovative product or developed a strong brand backed up by registered trade marks? This podcast will explain the importance of trade marks and patents, the difference between those and other IP rights, how the registration process works and how you can put value in your business through smart rights management.

The speakers were Sophia Clarke, Finers Stephens Innocent LLP, and Dave Morgan, enterprise and education development manager, IPO. The event took place at London College of Communication in September 2008.

The podcast is downloadable in one part.
