Debate on IP in design

Date: Thursday 23 September 2004
Time: 4 - 7pm

Fitch London

Fully booked

Please note this event is now FULL

The commercial design industry is one of the few creative sectors with a tendency to give away their ideas and work for free, whether willingly
(such as at the pitch stage), or through fear or ignorance. This debate, between three respected keynote speakers, will consider how the commercial
design sector might better understand their IP rights and values, and will seek to evaluate whether fee-based remuneration alone is appropriate in a changing global economy. This event is a must for those working within
design, branding, retail and product design agencies, media, client
organizations and trade bodies.

Dr Alex Williams, Course Leader in Industrial Design, University of Salford

Les Stokes, Partner, London Associates (http://www.la-design.co.uk )

This event has been organised in association with the British Design
Initiative (http://www.britishdesign.co.uk/ )
