Own-It 7-8pm (To book this event use the 'book now' link above)
If you're an industrial, furniture or product designer, you might be worried that talking to manufacturers, buyers and clients may result in you giving away your valuable ideas for free. This practical workshop will explain how to protect your work, covering key issues such as confidentiality agreements, licensing, assigning, royalties, ownership and exclusivity. It will also give a clear guide to contracts between maker and client/manufacturer. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions.
Our expert speaker for this event is Margaret Briffa of IP law firm Briffa (http://www.briffa.com) Margaret and her firm have been involved in many key design law cases, and she is co-author of 'Design Law', Published by the Law Society in 2004.
